2012 Ram Invitational + Stanford

Congratulations Rams on a successful 31st Annual Ram Invitational!  59 High Schools came to your home today to run on your course.  With your strong efforts and great attitudes you represented Westmoor very well.  You should be proud!  I certainly am!

I was gone for a big chunk of the meet this year as your teammate Kylie Goo was competing at the Stanford Invitational.  She certainly didn’t let any of you down with a strong second place finish in her race and a very impressive time of 18:10 (5k/3.1 miles).

Today was a day of PRs.  The vast majority of you ran better today than you ever have on the course.  For some of you that was from Tuesday and for others you beat your time from last year.  Knowing the course and having that plan can really make a difference.  Keep in mind that we will be running this course again in a week and a half for the PAL #2 race.  Even though you probably ran better today than on Tuesday, do your homework and think about your race and how you can run the course even faster next time.

P.A.L. Finals are only 4 weeks away so don’t let up now!  On Saturday evening, one week from today, we will be competing in Loomis under the lights at the Del Oro Invitational.  That meet is a lot of fun.  Then, on that Tuesday we are back at home for the second P.A.L. meet, which is the same Ram course as today.  Then that Saturday, two weeks from today, we go to the Castro Valley Invitational which we finish off with a fun picnic/BBQ.  Work hard and make the most out of this season because it will be over before you know it!
