2013 PAL Finals and CCS

Westmoor’s Cross Country season is now over and looking back this was definitely one of the best Ι have been a part of.  Coach DiMaggio and I are really proud of what the team has done this year from first-year runners to four-year senior captains and everyone in between.

Last week at the P.A.L. finals the Rams really showed how hard they had been working all year long.  There were many P.R.s and top efforts.

Both Varsity teams qualified for CCS with Boys finishing 5th Girls finishing 6th.  The top 10 boys and top 10 girls, regardless of division, were entered into CCS.  7 to run and 3 as alternates.  Several Frosh/Soph runners ran excellent races and broke into the rankings, earning themselves spots at CCS.  Senior Abigayle Haguisan led the girls while Junior Anwar Alghaithy led the boys.  Freshmen Omar Shatrat and Laney Goo led the Frosh/Soph  Boys and Girls who weren’t ready for their seasons to be over!  Here are the top 10 Boys and girls who made it to CCS.

CCS

Anwar Alghaithy Led the Boys at CCS by coming in 11th overall, breaking 16:00, and just missing out on State Finals by :06!  What an amazing first year Anwar!  Bridget (team USA) Okugbe Led the Girls with a massive PR and an amazing effort that just kept going and going.
